Environmental Nanoscience

Environmental nanomaterials research group is focused on the fundamental and applied aspects of the synthesis, characterization, and the performance of nanomaterials, e.g., metal/non-metal dopes, green synthesized, porous semiconductor materials, zeolites, nanotubes, graphene quantum dots, fluorescent carbon dots, nano-porous carbons, silica, alumina, zirconia, Titania, organic and inorganic polymers. Our work addresses both applications of nanomaterials that will enable sustainability and the implications of these materials for public health and the environment. The aforesaid newly developed functional nanomaterials are being assessed for different environmental applications including air and water purification, water disinfection, water desalination and gas purification and most importantly development of new stable/ recyclable material used for toxicity assays. The focus of the group is to develop strong relationship with industry with the aim to develop new nanomaterials for commercial application.
