Focus Areas
Atmospheric Pollution Monitoring and Control
Core topics covered:Monitoring: Ambient air sampling, continuous analyzers, passive samplers, satellite and LIDAR systemsAnalysis: AQI calculation, source apportionment, meteorological influences, plume modeling Control: Industrial controls, vehicular emission standards, indoor air management, policy frameworks like the Clean Air Act and Montreal Protocol
Air pollution control are the techniques employed to reduce or eliminate the emission into the atmosphere that can harm the environment or biodiversity, atmospheric contaminants like ozone pollution, Carbon monoxide poisoning, NOx pollution and Noise pollution. Common practices in daily life can also minimize the pollution like using public transports, turn off the lights when not in use, Recycle and Reuse, say no to plastic bags, reduction of forest fires and smoking, use of fans instead of Air Conditioner, use filters for chimneys, Avoid usage of crackers. Our research group core area focused on project execution of pilot projects in collaboration with the Industrial Sector of Pakistan particularly with Hattar Industrial KPK, Mass transient department Abbottabad and Environmental Protection Agency, Peshawar
